New Initiative Focuses on Being Outdoors While Keeping Mind and Body Fit.
LIBERTY, N.Y. (April 25, 2018) – The Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Department and the Liberty Public Library have joined forces to create a new program – the Walk and Talk Book Club. The new program focuses on a healthy way for Liberty residents to experience the great outdoors while keeping the mind and body fit.
On Tuesday, May 8th, participants will meet at Walnut Mountain Park at 6:00 p.m. for a short hike and discussion of the first book selection “A Walk in the Woods” by Bill Bryson. Participants should meet at Walnut Mountain Park, located at 73 Walnut Mountain Road at the upper entrance near the baseball field.
Books, including large print and audio versions, are currently available to borrow at the Liberty Public Library. Those interested should bring valid library cards or can contact the Library directly for more information on how to obtain a book. Participants may also borrow the eBook or eAudio version online by selecting the “Digital Media” tab from the library’s website at www.libertypubliclibrary.org.
