Youth basketball and wrestling program helps to keep kids active this winter season.
LIBERTY, N.Y. (November 21, 2018) – Town of Liberty children can have fun and stay active this winter despite the cold weather. Registration is now open for recreational youth basketball and wrestling programs hosted by the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Department.
The 6-week youth basketball program is open to boys and girls in grades 2 through 6. It will take place Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Liberty High School gymnasium starting January 12, 2018. The cost is $20 per child for Liberty residents and $30 per child for nonresidents.
The Warriors Wrestling Club is a competitive program for children in grades 2 through 6. This program will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Liberty High School wrestling room starting on November 28, 2018 and running through January 23, 2019. The cost is $20 per child for Liberty residents and $30 per child for non-residents.
“These programs provide fun, friendship, physical activity and sportsmanship during the winter season,” said Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Assistant Recreation Director James Guara. “Even though the weather outside might be too cold, we like to provide opportunities for local children to stay active all year-long.”
