Orange County, N.Y., Partners with ‘Wheel the World’ to Promote Inclusive Travel

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (July 25, 2025) – Orange County’s attractions, craft beverage spots, and scenic landscapes draw visitors from across the region and beyond. Now, with a new partnership with Wheel the World, Orange County Tourism & Film is working to ensure people of all abilities can experience everything the county has to offer—from outdoor adventures to local food and family-friendly activities.

Wheel the World, an accessible-travel platform that helps people with disabilities explore the world with confidence, is partnering with Orange County to highlight destinations that are working to improve and expand accessibility. As part of its “Destination Verified” program, the company’s trained “mappers” are visiting 13 local attractions, restaurants, and accommodations—including LEGOLAND® New York Resort, Storm King Art Center, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point—to collect detailed accessibility information. The platform is a growing brand providing information on 250 destinations from Maui to Cape Town to Machu Picchu.

“Truly everyone is welcome to enjoy Orange County’s widely popular attractions, fabulous and charming accommodations and delicious restaurant offerings,” said Amanda Dana, Director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “Our partnership with Wheel the World will affirm for travelers everywhere that Orange County is an accessible, convenient destination for all abilities, just an hour from New York City.”

“By prioritizing verified accessibility, Orange County is taking a meaningful step toward ensuring all travelers — including those with disabilities — can explore with confidence,” said Wheel the World co-founder and CEO Álvaro Silberstein. “This kind of transparency empowers people to make informed choices and enjoy everything the destination has to offer without uncertainty.”

Whether you’re taking in a concert at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, testing your knowledge on trivia night at a craft beverage hot spot, immersing yourself in American history or viewing outdoor art or gardens, Orange County Tourism & Film and Wheel the World will ensure a pleasant, convenient visit for all.

“There is such a variety of accessible places to visit in Orange County,” said Wheel the World mapper Tina Stanisciar. “Families, historians, art lovers, and foodies can all find enough to do for a day or for a week.”
