Generous $25,000 Gift from Resorts World Catskills
Helps Fund State-of-the-Art System
NEWBURGH, N.Y., July 13, 2026 – Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties is proud to announce the implementation of a new state-of-the-art Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, made possible in part through a generous $25,000 grant from Resorts World Catskills through its RW Gives charitable giving program. This important investment enhances patient care, improves operational efficiency, and strengthens dignified end-of-life services for individuals and families facing life’s most difficult moments.
The new EMR system represents a significant advancement in the tools available to Hospice’s dedicated clinical teams, providing real-time access to comprehensive patient information and enabling faster communication, more informed decision-making and stronger care coordination across all settings, said President and CEO Eric Gatsik.
“The advanced technology will help clinicians respond more quickly to evolving patient needs and strengthen medical care, resulting in an even higher level of personalized support for patients and families,” Gatsik said. “This new system also will reduce time spent on paperwork and administrative tasks. Automated workflows and new capabilities will allow staff to complete documentation more efficiently — freeing them to spend more meaningful time with patients and their loved ones.”

The new electronic medical record system, called Firenote, also will support long-term organizational sustainability through improved accuracy, stronger compliance and reporting capabilities. It also will offer advanced metrics that will be vital during data-driven decision-making. Staff training is now being provided and will continue into July when the system will go live. Hospice is pleased that staff feedback has been positive.
